How do I relace a trapeze baseball gloves?

VIDEO

Know how much lacing is required to relace a baseball glove.

The standard 3/16a3 width of lace is recommended for almost every section of every glove. For extra strength, 1/4a3 width lace should be used only on the glove's webbing, or on the top-of-fingers of some catcher's and first basement's mitts. It is not recommended for larger outfielder's and catcher's gloves.

The next question is: Where can I get my baseball glove re-stitched? Our in-store glove steaming service can bring your glove or mitt back to game-day condition thanks to the skilled Softball and Baseball PROS of DICK'S Sporting Goods. Professional glove steaming can improve the playability of your baseball and softball gloves.

So, when do I need to replace my baseball glove?

Your glove will last for a long time if it feels good when you catch the ball and the laces are strong and properly adjusted. This is where Occam's Razor applies: if a glove doesn't work anymore, it should be replaced.

Do you need to tighten the baseball glove laces

Baseball gloves, like friendships, require regular maintenance. The laces may stretch or loosen over time, so you need to fix them. The laces may need to be loosened if you have grown in the time since the last glove was worn.
