What is a NUC in a Bee?

Nucs or nucleus colonies are smaller honey bee colonies that were created from larger colonies. This term describes both the smaller box and the honeybee colony within it. Named after the fact that a nuc is centered around a queen, which is the nucleus of the honeybee colony, it is called the "Nuc Hive".

Between two and three weeks
