What does energy mean in terms of power?

Power is the rate at which you do work or transfer heat. The energy converted or transferred per unit of time. This is different from the concept work, which is measured in terms of a net improvement in the state the physical system.

You might also wonder, "How is power related to electricity?"

Power and energy are units of energy divided over time. This is the same as distance or velocity. The units for power refer to watts and the units for electricity refer to joules. One joule is divided by one second to make a watt.

What is the power? The power, or exponent of a number tells how many times you can use it in a multiplication. However, power can also refer to the result of using an expponent. In the above example "64" was also known as the power.

What is the definition of power?

Physics defines energy as the work that can be done by force. power refers to the speed at which work is being performed.

What is science's definition of power?

Power. physics. Power is a time rate for doing work or delivering power in science or engineering. It can be expressed as the work done W or the energy transferred divided by the time interval W/t. You can do a given amount of work with a low-powered motor for a long period of time, or a high-powered motor for a shorter time.
