What is pars Distalis?

The anterior pituitary's largest part, the pars distalis (distal portion), is made up of the vast majority of the anterior pituitary. This is also where most of the pituitary hormone production takes place. There are two types of cells in the pars distalis: chromophil and chromophobe.

What is the Pars Tuberalis, then?

The Pars Tuberalis forms part of the anterior lung of the pituitary and wraps the pituitary stem in a highly vascularized sheath.

What organ houses the pars neurosa pars Distalis, and pars intermedia, other than those mentioned above? C. Although the pars intermedia is not well developed in the human pituitary it is present in most pituitaries in mammals. The pars intermedia is a layer that appears to be several cells thick in the monkey pituitary. It lies between the pars distalis & pars nervosa.

What is the pars intermedia, likewise?

The boundary between the anterior & posterior lobes is called Pars Intermedia. It is home to three types of cells: basophils and chromophobes as well as colloid-filled cysts. The remainder of Rathke’s pouch is made up of cysts.

What are the hormones secreted in pars Distalis's body?

The last two hormones that basophils of pars distalis secrete are of particular importance in our discussion on human reproductive biology. Follicle-stimulating Hormone (FSH) is one of them.
