What are dedicated instances?

Dedicated instances are Amazon EC2 instances running in a VPC that is dedicated to a single customer. Your dedicated instances are physically isolated from other instances on AWS at the hardware level.



What is the difference between a dedicated host or a dedicated instance?

A Dedicated host is different from a dedicated instance. This gives you more control and visibility over how the instances are placed on a server. You can also deploy multiple instances to the same server at once.

What is a reserved instance?

A Reserved Instance refers to a reserve of resources and capacity for one or three year for a specific Availability Zone within a given region. Contrary to on-demand, a reservation is purchased for the entire term of the 1- or 3-year period. In exchange, the hourly rate will be significantly reduced.
