Does Tom Sawyer have bad words?

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer contains no curse words, but there is offensive racist language, including multiple instances of the "N" word. Native Americans are also depicted in a insulting way. The villain is called "Injun Joe" and the author attributes Joe’s ruthlessness directly to his race.

You may also wonder, "What age is appropriate for Tom Sawyer?"

We are 11 or 12, and we love this book because it has lots of humor. There are some phrases that contain offensive words. I believe that most children 12 years old and older should be able read it, and that mature kids 10 years and older should be able enjoy it.

How does Tom Sawyer end his career? Injun Joe is gone at the end of the book. Tom, Huck are the heroes of their community. Huck saved Widow Douglas's lives, and Tom managed to escape the caves with Becky. The book ends with Tom, Huck and Becky making plans to start Tom Sawyer's Gang that night and become robbers.

Also, find out what Tom Sawyer represents.

Tom is in a sense the civilized society Huck and Jim left behind when they fled down the river. Tom returns with his fantasies of escape from Phelps farm and Jim becomes a gullible servant again. Huck becomes a simple agent for Tom.

Is Tom Sawyer worth reading?

Tom Sawyer is not in this one at all. The emphasis is on Huck, the runaway slave, and Jim, the narrator. The novel's largest portion is spent on the Mississippi River, which Twain was familiar with well. Both are worth the read, but it is important to remember that they belong in a different time.
