What makes prosimians so different from other primates

There are two types of primates: prosimians and anthropoids. Humans, apes, and monkeys are all anthropoids. prosimians are Lemurs. Prosimians, unlike all other primates have moist noses. They rely on their senses of smell to identify individuals and distinguish between them in their social group.

How does anthropoids compare to other primates when you consider this?

Primates can be divided into three suborders of anthropoids: monkeys, hominids, and apes. to distinguish between monkeys and the other humanoids is - search for a tail. While most monkey species have tails (apart from the hominids ), there are no apes that have them. Monkeys are more similar to humans and apes than other mammals.

You might also wonder, what traits are found in apes and not in other primates? The traits found in apes and not in other primates are: Any two of these characteristics can be found in apes, but not in any other primates : Y-5 molars; flatter faces; larger brains; adaptations for swinging; lack of tail

Are prosimians and Strepsirrhines one thing, or are they different things?

Prosimian. The Prosimians group of primates includes all extinct and living strepsirrhines (lemurs and lorisoids and adapiforms), along with the haplorhine tarsiers, their extinct relatives, and the omomyiforms. All primates, excluding simians.

Prosimians are primitive because of this.

Prosimians are the most primitive primates. Prosimians are primitive because they still have the characteristics of the very first primates millions of years ago. Prosimians are lemurs, lorises and galagos. Many primates have prehensile tails which are unique among primates.
