What is the purpose of a decompression valve on a chainsaw?

What is a "decompression valve"? A decompression valve allows some compression to be released from the combustion chamber during the start procedure. This makes the engine easier for pulling the recoil rope.

How does a decompression lever function?

The decompression lever allows for free flow of atmospheric air into the engine. This is done by ensuring that both the inlet and exhaust valves remain open. The lever will be released once the flywheel has enough power to drive the piston. The oprration of cam determines how valves will be operated.

Also, learn about decompression in a diesel engine. When we pull the decompression lever on a moped, it opens a valve in the Combustion chamber of our engine to allow a loss in compression. This allows the piston to move more freely in the cylinder and makes it easier to start the engine.

How does auto decompression work?

Spring loaded weights are used in automatic decompressor systems to operate a pin inside the camshaft, or a special decompressor arm. The weight/s will sling when the engine is running and the camshaft rotates at speed.

What's the button at the top of a Husqvarna Chainsaw?

The Decompression Release button temporarily lowers engine compression to make it easier for you to pull the start rope when starting.
