What is the boom in a crane?

The Boom: A crane's boom is the long, telescopic or fixed arm that is used for moving objects. The Counterweights: These are stabilizers that are placed near the cab's outside to prevent the crane becoming unbalanced when lifting heavy load.

Modularity is a key feature of the lattice boom. Inserts, which are short segments that can be manually inserted into the boom segments, allow for an increase in length between the tip and butt sections. Inserts are available in a range of lengths, from 10-40 feet, and can be installed quickly using pins.
