What is a Schroeder Thomas splint used for?

Fracture stabilization is not recommended by Schroeder Thomas splints. Schroeder - Thomas Spilts are traction tools made of wire frame and soft material. The splint is not effective in immobilizing the hip or shoulder joint and it is contraindicated for humeral fractures.



Is the Thomas splint still being used today?

Jones was Hugh Owen Thomas's nephew (1834-1891). Jones is known for his invention of the Thomas Splint. Thomas' work wasn't fully appreciated during his lifetime. His techniques were only discovered during the First World War.
