Is ready seal oil based?

GENERAL QUESTIONS. Ready Seal, a semi-transparent exterior wood stain and sealer made from oil based commercial grade, is available. This unique combination of oil, transoxide pigments and oil penetrates deep into wood to preserve and protect it from the elements.

Is ready-seal water also based on this?

Product Description Ready SealA(r), Stain and Sealer for Wood, is an oil-based semitransparent stain and sealer. This unique combination of oil, quality resins, and finely ground pigments penetrates deeply to preserve and protect wood from the elements. Do not mix Ready SealA(r), with water-based stains/seals.

Is ready seal also worth the effort? Ready Seal is practically foolproof. It dries quickly to an even finish and leaves no drips or runs. The 8 score is due to the fact that the coverage rate isn't very high. It was good overall, but it does fade considerably after three days. After 2 years, a Ready Seal Wood or Deck Stain did no darken.

You may also wonder, "How long does Ready Seal dry?"

48-72 hours

What happens if it pours after you have sealed your deck?

Rain can cause damage to any wet sealer that has linseed oil, mineral oil, or linseed oil in it. It forms a layer and takes many hours to dry. The sealer becomes vulnerable because of this. You may not have any problems if the surface was dry enough to touch and the rainfall was mild.
