How does a collet die work?
The collet tightens the case neck against an exact mandrel, ensuring a perfect fit and minimal run-out. There is no need to use case lube. The dies will last 10 times as long as the cases. These dies are only sized at the neck for perfect fire-forming.

The LEE Collet Die is an affordable option for those who prefer to neck-size rather than full-length. You can use collettangs or ingengersa press your neck against a central mandrel. This will result in a straight neck that is consistent from top to bottom.

Does neck sizing improve accuracy?
there are no advantages to neck sizing. Neck sizing used to be popular among target and varmint shooters because it reduced chamber clearance and that extends case life by not over-working the brass. Many shooters also figured that the tighter their loads fit the chamber – the more accurate they'll shoot.
What does a neck sizer die do?

The critical thing IMO for new brass is to ensure consistent neck tension on the bullet which can only be obtained by sizing the brass when loading it. Good shooting and be safe. Always, unless I want to run into problems when loading (which I don't). Case necks get dinged and crushed, resizing makes them uniform.

Yes, because a thicker neck will offer more tension than a thin neck, starting from the same ID. A neck with a thick side will do the same thing, to a lesser degree. Then all you need to do is adjust neck tension. Still no viable reason to neck turn.

Lee dies are excellent. You can spend a lot more on other brands but the quality will not be any better. RCBS will do everything most reloaders will ever ask.
