Does propane heat dry out the air?

There is no moisture in the system if there's no leakage or humidifier. While air is heated to reduce relative humidity, air doesn't get any dryer in terms of absolute humidity. Sealed combustion furnaces won't dry your air.

Is gas heat able to dry the air?

Running a gas furnace can result in lower humidity within a house. However, the furnace's heaters won't dry off the air. This is because winter's outside air is typically dryer than the indoor air. It causes a drop in humidity.

Will increasing the heat make humidity less? Heating the air doesn't remove humidity, it just makes the air more humid. The more moisture in the air , the warmer it is. The basement could be heated in summer to heat the upper levels of the house (since warm air rises).

You might also wonder if propane heaters can produce moisture.

Heat is generated by heating air by drawing it over a flame. The heat generated by direct contact with the flame can produce small amounts of moisture.

Gas heat can dry your sinuses

Another term that describes the humidity in the air is relative humidity. Additional dryness caused by forced air or steam heat in your home can irritate the nose and dry it out. If allergens from the air enter the sinuses through the nasal cavities, problems with mucus drainage can also occur.
