Can rats eat cooked beets?

Beets contain a lot of oxalic acid, which can lead to the formation of urinary crystals. When ingested in large amounts and frequently, they are high in nitrates which can increase the cancer risk for rats. After rats consume a food, they are unable to vomit or burp.



Can rats eat corn on the cob cooked by humans?

Corn on a cob can be enjoyed by rats. It's good for them, especially if they are fresh/raw.

What about radishes for rats? Apples are safe for rats, but the seeds can contain cyanide, which is a deadly toxin. Other cautionary foods include radish leaf and radishes. Only small amounts should be consumed raw. Cooking legumes such as lima beans or soy beans first will make them safe for your rats.
