Why do we use tile spacers?

The tile spacers can be used to create a consistent pattern for fixing floor or wall tiles. They also help ensure that tiles are placed in a straight line (as you or your customer would like) so grout can be applied.

What is the purpose of spacers in tiles?

Tile spacers, which are usually small pieces of plastic, are used to place tiles at an equal distance. These will be helpful in aligning all your tiles properly, and can also be used to help with your patio layout. For a uniform pattern (or a so-called "checkerboard" pattern), you buy cross-shaped spacers.

What time should I allow tile spacers to remain in place? You must keep the spacers in place until the adhesive sets. This usually takes between 20 and 30 minutes. Do not leave them longer, as they could be bonded to adhesive. It is not a good idea for spacers to be left in place and then grouted over.

Do tiles need spacers?

International standards recommend that spacers be maintained between tiles when laying them. Can take out and replace broken tiles. If spacers are not maintained there is a greater chance that another tile will break while picking out damaged tiles. Grouts are used to fill in spaces between tiles.

Spacers for subway tiles:

The majority of subway tiles have grooves along the sides. This means that you don't have to use spacers because it is an automatic 1/16a3 grout line.
