Where are the cooling coils in a refrigerator?

The fridge's bottom or back has the condenser coils. These coils cool, and condense refrigerant. The coils can't release heat efficiently if they are blocked with dirt and dust.

Aside from that, where are the coils in a fridge?

The condenser coils can be found either under the refrigerator or at the back of your refrigerator.

How do you access the refrigerator's evaporator coil? The cover of the refrigerator's evaporator coil is located behind the freezer's back wall. It can be easily opened using a screwdriver.

  1. Place the food in a cooler that has a lid.
  2. Unplug your refrigerator.
  3. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws holding the icemaker bracket brackets (if your refrigerator has one).

You might also wonder if all refrigerators use coils.

Refrigerators with their condenser coil mounted on top of the cabinet do NOT have one. Refrigerators with condenser coils in the compressor compartment use fans that push air through the coil to transfer heat from compression to the environment.

What happens if the refrigerator coils get dirty?

If the refrigerator condenser coils get dirty, the refrigerant that runs through them cannot lose heat as easily. Overheating compressors can be caused by dirty condenser coils. Overheating can cause the compressor to stop functioning and the entire refrigeration process to stop.
