What purpose is the pariet drug?

This medicine belongs to the 'Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) group. They lower the acid your stomach produces. The following conditions can be treated with Pariet tablets: "Gastro-oesophageal Reflux Disease" (GORD), which may include heartburn.



What are the side effects associated with Pariet?

Although side effects of Pariet are not usually serious, there are some cases where Pariet can cause side effects in 1-10%. These include:

  • Headache, dizziness.
  • Diarrhoea, nausea, abdominal pain, flatulence, vomiting, constipation.
  • Cough is an inflammation of the throat and nose.
  • Nonspecific pain, backache
  • Rash.

Can you also take Pariet with food? The tablets should not be crushed or chewed. The tablets have a special coating that protects them against stomach acid. The tablets might not function if the coating is damaged by chewing. It doesn't matter if PARIET is taken with or without food.

Adults should take 10-20 mg once daily to maintain long-term healing from GERD. The average treatment time for GERD takes between 4 and 8 weeks.

Is it safe to use rabeprazole for longer than necessary?

Within 2 to 3 days, you should feel better. It may take up 4 weeks for the rabeprazoleto work properly. You may still experience some symptoms.
