Always clean and dry your glass before applying your design. Press the design onto the glass and rub it hard. Apply with a paintbrush thick layers of etching crème to the glasses. Avoid spilling cream as they can leave permanent marks. Allow the cream to dry for 5 minutes before washing off with warm water.



It is also important to find out what type of paint you use for etched glass.

You can also use glass-specific paint to give your project a lasting finish. People also add a little regular Krylon spray to their glass. It is important to apply a very small amount of spray on the affected areas. An excessively thick layer could lead to falls.

How do you color permanent etched glass? Add a few drops of Pinata Tint onto the sponge. Blend a bit. The tint should be wiped in one direction on top of the white engraving. Use a cotton swab, or a paper towel to remove any excess. In a small bowl, add a few drops of white Rub N Buff.

What can etching cream be used for?

Hydroflouric acid is what attacks glass, while Etching cream is acid. Glass is not affected by it. It could attack metal. However, a steel rack would not form a nice patina the same way that copper or silver would. It would simply rust.

What happens if you leave etching lotion on for too long?

The Etch Cream will not react well with the glass if it is not left on for enough time. Too much can cause scorch marks to the glass and weaken the stencil. Peel N Etch stencils or hand-cut vinyl stencils are suitable for Over N Over stencils. Allow 5 minutes.
