What is a basal carcinoma?

Basal cell carcinoma can grow on areas of your skin that are exposed to a lot of sunlight. You may feel anxious if your doctor informs you that you have basal cell carcinoma. However, it is the most common type of skin -related cancer. You can get it treated if you catch it early.

Basal cell skin cancer is extremely serious.

Most common skin cancers are caused by uncontrolled, abnormal growth of basal cells. BCCs are usually curable as they grow slowly and can be treated quickly. Knowing the causes of BCCs, their risk factors, and warning signs will help you identify them early so that they can be treated and cured quickly.

Basal cell skin cancer can also cause death. Basal cell carcinoma, a slow-growing type of nonmelanoma skin tumors, is very rare. This type of skin cancer must be treated as it has a high rate of cure. Basal cell carcinomas, if left untreated can grow to be quite large and disfigure the patient. In rare cases, it can spread to other parts and even cause death.

What happens if a basal cell carcinoma becomes melanoma.

Basal cell carcinoma is not a precursor to melanoma. The cancerous cells are found in the lower layers. They grow slowly and rarely spread beyond the epidermis. Melanoma, a rare and aggressive form of skin cancer, is found in the melanocytes.
