It is called the expanse because of its size.

The Expanse was the name I thought it had when it first started. It was about humans colonizing our Solar System and "expanding beyond Earth". But, after watching recent episodes, I now know what the title actually means. This series is only the beginning.

This in mind, why was expanse Cancelled

Syfy Cancels The Expanse. Syfy has only first-run linear rights in the United States to air the series. This means that the cabler can't cash in on streaming/digital rights. Alcon Television Group, the producer of the series, has issued a statement in which it stated its intention to find a new home.

The expanse began on what channel? Think back to December 2015 when a series called "The Expand" was first aired. It was based on James S. A. Corey's series of novels.

You may also wonder, "Who made this expanse?"
