How do submersible trailer lights be installed?

VIDEO

It is also important to understand how submersible trailer lights work.

Submersible tail lights can allow water in. There is usually a hole at the low end so that water can drain. For either type of tail light, you will want to seal off water at the junctions of the taillight wiring and the trailer wires. This is where shrink tubing comes in handy. Also, you can wrap connections with electrical tape.

You may also be curious about the color code of trailer wiring. Brown wire goes to the tail and parking lights. Green wire for the right turn signal/brake lamp. Yellow wire for the left turn signal/brake lamp. Common or chassis ground, white wire.

Do LED trailer lights require a resistor?

Each LED turn signal requires one resistor. The resistor must be attached to the tow vehicle. This could create problems if multiple vehicles are used to transport your trailer. It is important that all lights on your trailer are replaced with LEDs if you plan to convert to LED lights.

Are LED trailer lights waterproof

These lights also come with waterproof acapsules that protect the bulbs from thermal shock and corrosion. Lights are truly waterproof. They are sealed to prevent water from getting inside, like our Sealed Oval Trailer Lighting Kit. All LED lights are permanently sealed.
