What is the purpose of using French reflexive verbs?

Reflexive verbs are used in every French.
These words can be used to describe your day (je m’habillea I dress myself), or express how you feel (je me FAC/chea I am becoming mad), or even to introduce yourself, as I did in my first French class.

What do French reflexive verbs do?

When the subject and the object are the same, reflexive verbs can be used. This means that the subject performs the action on his own. A reflexive is composed of a pronoun, and a verb . You, me, te and vous are the reflexive pronouns.

Reflexive verbs in French also agree. The reflexive verbs are always conjugated using the reflexive pronoun which agrees with their subject: me, te, yourself, se (himself), herself, herself, them), nous (ourselves), vous (yourself), yourselves). These pronouns are usually preceded by the verb.

Many people also wonder how to conjugate a French reflexive verb.

Je (I) is a me.

  • tu (you), a te
  • Il, elle, on (he/she, one/we), a se.
  • nous (we) a nous.
  • vous (you, formal/you all) a vous.
  • They, they (they), ils, elles (they).
