What is a treated sill plate?

Sill Plate is a versatile, tough pressure-treated lumber. It's similar to borate- treated lumber in that it can stop termites and decay. Additionally, it is compatible with carbon steel (black) fasteners. It doesn't require special handling, unlike borate-treated lumber.

A sill plate can also be asked the question, "What does it do?"

Sill plates (also known as sole plates or simply asillas) are the bottom of a wall structure, where wall studs attach. These sill plates are usually attached to the foundation and are an essential component of every house. Problems such as sagging floors can result if the sills are damaged or rotten.
