Is Pam a flambeur?

Conagra states Pam and other cooking sprays are labeled with clear warning labels. They warn consumers that the product can be flammable. The company stated that cooking spray should not be stored at 120 degrees F or used near an open flame.



Pam is therefore flammable.

PAM Cooking Sprays, like other aerosols are flammable and their contents are under pressure. All PAM cooking sprays have warning labels on the back and front of the package advising consumers that the product is flammable . "

Is there any recall on Pam's cooking spray?

Pam's cooking spray containers with a U-shaped release valve appear to be one such product. Conagra has not recalled any of the products mentioned in the lawsuits. Dickerson however advised home cooks that they should always inspect the outside condition of canned goods and sprays.

Pam cans explode:

Craig Smith stated that larger cans of Pam or similar Conagra Brands cooking sprays are prone to explode due to a defective, U-shaped vent system at the bottom. One victim suffered severe burns and was airlifted to the Burn Center where they were treated. The patient was then placed in a 20-day medically induced coma.
