Is it worth driving for Uber?

It seems like a great side business to be a driver for Uber and Lyft. You might not make as much as you think after you consider the cost of driving strangers all over town. Earnest, a loan company, estimated that Uber drivers earn an average of $364 per months and a median income of $155 per monthly. Uber reported that the average Uber driver in New York City earns $25 per hour, after commissions, sales tax, and a median income of $90,000.

Uber is going out of business in 2019

Uber consistently stated that 2019 would be an investment year. The company stated that it had fired 400 of its global marketing staff this summer, which is about a third its total communications staff. Khosrowshahi stated that Uber was not Lyft's main competitor but car ownership.
