Can you mix ice dye and liquid dye?
Liquid Rit dye--you drip the liquid dye onto ice using the same technique as the liquid Rit dye. Any dye which immediately runs from the ice and the fabric will become darker. You can achieve a blended look by dripping two colors.
You can also ice dye polyester. Synthetic fibers like rayon and polyester don't take dye as well as natural fibers. After the 15 minutes are up, wring the fabric to remove any excess water. Place your ice on top and make a small pile.

Soak and wash the fabric. Stir the water slowly and then soak it in the soapy water. Let it dry according to the instructions on your dye package. Most dyes recommend that you stir the clothing every now & again. This is to ensure that the dye moves throughout the fibers.

Which Rit dye is better powder or liquid?
There is no difference in terms of color or dye performance. The liquid dye is already dissolved in water and more concentrated than the powder dye. So you only need to use half as much when using the liquid dye. As a guideline, one bottle of liquid dye is equivalent to two boxes of powder dye.
Do you wash clothes after dying them?
When desired color is achieved, remove from dyebath. Fabric will look darker when wet and will dry lighter. To enhance the color and reduce color bleeding, use Rit ColorStay Dye Fixative immediately after dyeing and before washing, following these instructions. Wash in warm water with a mild detergent, rinse and dry.
Can I pour Rit dye down the drain?
If you don't have a laundry sink, you can carefully dump the dye water into a cellar or basement floor drain or a shiny, non-worn porcelain toilet, and then carry out step seven over your now-empty pot in the kitchen sink. Step Seven: Run HOT water over your item(s).

Dye small, delicate or unusual items by hand with a bucket, sink, or bathtub. Do not use fabric dye in porcelain or fiberglass bathtubs due to the strong possibility of staining. Fill a suitable vessel (ex: bucket/sink/bathtub) with enough hot water so your material will be completely submerged under the water.
