Do our bodies need protein?

Protein is an essential component of every cell within the body. The protein is used by the body to build and restore tissues. You can also use protein for making enzymes, hormones, or other body chemicals. Protein is an important building block for bones, muscles cartilage, skin and blood.



Do we therefore need protein?

Protein is found in every cell of the human body. protein's basic structure is a series of amino acids. To help your body make new cells and repair old ones, you must have protein. For children, teens, pregnant women, and for growth and development, protein is important.

What amount of protein does our body need? DRI (Dietary Reference Intake), is 0.8 grams of protein per kg of body weight or 0.36 grams per pound. 56 grams of protein per day is the average sedentary male. 46 grams per day for an average sedentary female.

So, how can we live without protein?

Protein can also be found in non-animal sources such as beans, lentils, whole grains, and beans. Humans can't live without protein by briefly describing its role in the body. Protein is essential for survival.

What happens if your body is deficient in protein?

Protein deficiency is when your body doesn't have enough protein to function normally. Insufficient protein may cause muscle cramping, weakness, or soreness. When protein is low, your body will use the protein you take from muscle tissue to provide energy for other vital body functions.
